About Gamepad Tester

A live view of any connected game controller through the browser's Gamepad API. Once you press a button on the pad, every button shows its pressed state (with a partial fill for analog triggers) and every axis plots its position from −1 to +1.

Multiple controllers are supported and shown side by side, each labelled with its reported id.

Frequently asked questions

Why isn't my controller showing?

Browsers only reveal a gamepad after its first input — connect it and press any button. Bluetooth and USB pads both work.

Which button is which?

In the standard mapping, 0–3 are the face buttons, 4–7 the bumpers and triggers, 8–9 select/start, 10–11 stick clicks and 12–15 the d-pad.

Is it private?

Every calculation happens on this page, in your own browser. Your input is never sent to a server, never logged and never used for training — which also means the tool keeps working when you are offline.
